iUML Modeller provides built-in textual requirement management. Requirements can be created, edited, categorised, driven through a lifecyle, related to other requirements and linked to UML model elements.

The iUML-DOORS Integration allows users to manage requirements in Telelogic DOORS(R) and have them automatically exported to iUML as iUML requirements. iUML users can then link them to UML model elements and have this traceability information injected back into Telelogic DOORS. Using the "Synchronise" tool, the Telelogic DOORS and iUML views of the requirements and traceability links are kept consistent with each other as changes are made.

In this way, users can continue to manage their system-wide requirements in Telelogic DOORS while accessing the subset relevant to the Executable UML models directly from within the iUML Modeller tool.
